Hi, i’m Karli. I’m mother to a four-year old daughter and a one-year old son. I’ve been vegetarian for over 20-years, and have gradually turned into a fully-fledged vegan (coming up six years now). Before having my daughter I was a graphic designer, and I still pursue work in this area; I enjoy working on creative briefs, especially with like-minded individuals, businesses, not-for profits and charities. I also illustrate, draw, paint and enjoy photography.
During my first pregnancy, I re-kindled my passion for sewing; making quilts, swaddles, bibs, change mats and more for my baby girl. She was born with hip dysplasia, and from a few days old until two months old she had to wear a pavlik harness continuously. After finding it extremely difficult to buy clothes that would fit over the harness, I ended up making clothing for her. I still make some of her clothes, clothes for her doll, as well as a few bits for my baby boy. I have also ventured into knitting/crocheting items for the kids and myself as well.
Veganism is a large part of my life, and I am always trying out new recipes. Weekday meals need to be enjoyed by myself, husband and kids and be healthy, preferably quick and easy to cook as well. Leftovers that can be frozen and reheated are also high up on my list! Healthy treats and snacks like muffins and bliss balls are staple lunch box/picnic items!
With this blog, my aim is to share information, tips and advice, and discuss relevant ethical issues in order to help educate others into making ethical lifestyle decisions.
